Open up the Disk Utility program in the Applications>Utilities folder. Select your hard disk and click Repair Permissions. On Leopard this might take a while. When that finishes, click Verify Disk. It might appear to hang up, but that's normal....

Yes. I'm using EVE in windowed mode under Leopard (10.5.1) and get framerates of 30-40 fps in space, 25-30 in combat (no PvP yet though), and 80+ in stations. I'm using one of the new aluminum 2.4 GHz iMacs with 2 GB RAM and ATI 2600 HD Pro graph...
